How School Bus Crashes Are Assessed After Impact
When a school bus is involved in a crash, several safety factors are often reviewed. School buses are built with reinforced sides and closely spaced seats designed to help protect children during a collision. Even so, the size and weight of another vehicle can still cause injuries.
Front-end damage may suggest a direct impact, which can affect both drivers and passengers. Seat positioning, speed, and the angle of contact can all influence how people inside are hurt. Medical evaluations are common after these crashes, even if injuries first appear minor.
Road closures sometimes follow bus accidents to allow for vehicle removal and inspection. Clearing the scene safely helps restore normal traffic flow while ensuring damaged vehicles are handled properly.
