Waterbury, CT (January 30, 2026) – Emergency responders were called out early Wednesday morning to a motor vehicle accident involving injuries near Wayland Ave, close to the intersections of Elmhurst Ave and Gaylord Dr in Waterbury, according to dispatch audio from Waterbury Police and Fire.
The crash occurred around 2:23 a.m. on January 28 and involved two vehicles. Engine 8 was dispatched to the scene to assist with patient care and scene control. Upon arrival, responders assessed the situation and provided aid to at least one injured individual. That person was reportedly transported to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. The extent of the injuries has not yet been released.
The area surrounding the crash was temporarily impacted as crews worked to assist the injured, assess vehicle damage, and safely clear the roadway. Details regarding the cause of the accident and the condition of other occupants involved remain under investigation.
