Frequently Asked Questions
Are motorcycle and e-motorcycle crashes more common at intersections?
Yes. Intersections involve crossing traffic, turning vehicles, and signal timing, all of which raise the chance a driver or rider misjudges the other's path compared to a straight stretch of road.
What protective gear helps reduce injury for riders?
A DOT-approved helmet, abrasion-resistant jacket and pants, gloves, and over-the-ankle boots all help reduce the severity of injuries in a crash, though they can't prevent one from happening.
What to Do After a Car and E-Motorcycle Crash in Waterford, MI
If you witness or are involved in a crash between a vehicle and an e-motorcycle, call 911 immediately so police and fire crews can respond. Keep the injured person still and avoid moving them unless there's an immediate danger. Once medical needs are addressed, exchange information with everyone involved and ask responding officers how to obtain the official crash report. Follow up with a doctor in the days after, since some injuries, especially head and soft-tissue injuries, don't show symptoms right away.
