Watsonville, CA (January 23, 2026) – A traffic collision resulting in minor injuries was reported Thursday night at the intersection of Freedom Blvd and Airport Blvd in Watsonville. The incident occurred near 1945 Freedom Blvd and was first reported around 8:42 p.m.
California Highway Patrol and local emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that at least one individual sustained minor injuries. Paramedics evaluated those involved, and while injuries were not life-threatening, treatment was administered at the scene.
The crash involved a silver 2016 Ford Taurus and at least one other vehicle. Both lanes of the roadway were temporarily shut down while officers managed the scene and facilitated the removal of the damaged vehicles.
Two tow trucks were dispatched, and one of the involved vehicles was impounded under section 22651(h) of the California Vehicle Code. Traffic resumed once the roadway was cleared and authorities completed their on-site investigation.
The cause of the crash remains under review. Officers are determining whether roadway conditions or driver behavior played a role in the collision.
