Bicycle Safety and Child Pedestrian Awareness
Collisions involving children on bicycles can result in serious injuries, especially in residential neighborhoods and intersections where vehicle and bicycle traffic frequently intersect. Drivers are encouraged to remain alert for children near roadways, parks, schools, and neighborhood streets.
Parents and guardians are also reminded of the importance of bicycle safety education, helmet use, and teaching children to remain cautious when crossing streets or riding near traffic. Quick emergency response and immediate medical attention are often critical in reducing the severity of injuries following these incidents.
