West Chester, OH (January 10, 2026) – A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash involving an ambulance on January 9 in Butler County, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. on Beckett Rd in West Chester. Authorities confirmed that 43-year-old Ernestina Obeng was one of the occupants in the non-ambulance vehicle and sustained fatal injuries in the collision. She was transported to West Chester UC Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead due to multiple traumatic injuries.
Reports indicate that the ambulance was not transporting a patient at the time and was returning to its station after a prior hospital drop-off. Two additional individuals in the second vehicle were injured and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
Emergency crews shut down a portion of the roadway while investigating the scene and clearing the wreckage. The cause of the crash is still under active investigation by local authorities.
Our hearts go out to the family of Ernestina Obeng during this difficult time, and we wish those injured a full and swift recovery.
