West Hartford, CT (January 7, 2026) – A car crash involving a pickup truck and a sedan left one person injured near the intersection of Bloomfield Ave and Simsbury Rd in West Hartford on Monday afternoon.
The incident happened on January 5 and initially raised concern after reports indicated that one of the drivers appeared trapped by a seatbelt and may have been exposed to smoke. Emergency responders, including fire and medical units, arrived on scene to assist. The injured driver was helped from the vehicle and received medical attention. The second driver did not report injuries and declined treatment.
Though a fire was not confirmed, initial calls described a smoky condition near one of the vehicles. Crews ensured all occupants were safely removed and the scene was stabilized. Traffic in the area was briefly impacted as responders worked to clear the vehicles and check for hazards.
