Motorcycle Ejection Crashes in Kansas: What Makes Them Dangerous
When a motorcyclist is ejected from their bike during a collision, the risk of serious injury increases significantly compared to crashes where the rider stays with the vehicle. Without an enclosed frame around them, riders absorb the full force of the impact and the ground. Even at moderate speeds, ejections can cause broken bones, head injuries, and internal trauma.
Intersections are among the most common locations for motorcycle crashes in Kansas and across the country. Many of these collisions involve a vehicle failing to yield or see an approaching motorcycle in time. Riders are far less visible than cars or trucks, which makes cross-traffic scenarios at urban intersections particularly risky, especially after dark when lighting is reduced.
