We extend our thoughts to those injured and wish them a full recovery.
What Risks Are Linked to High-Speed Crashes on Urban Roads?
Busy roads like East Rosecrans Avenue and South San Pedro Street often carry steady traffic and include intersections, sidewalks, and nearby structures. In areas like Willowbrook, higher speeds can increase the chance of losing control.
When a vehicle is traveling quickly, the force of impact in a crash can be much greater. This can lead to vehicles leaving the roadway, striking objects such as trees, or ending up on sidewalks.
High-speed crashes may also result in more severe injuries, especially when multiple vehicles are involved. Reaction time is reduced at higher speeds, making it harder for drivers to avoid collisions or respond to sudden changes in traffic conditions.
