Madison County, IN (September 10, 2026) – A woman suffered critical injuries after a semi crashed into her passenger vehicle on State Road 13 near the Madison and Hamilton County line on September 8.
The collision happened around 8:30 a.m. at State Road 13 and Strawtown Avenue, also known as West 8th Street Road east of the intersection. The woman was traveling north when a southbound semi reportedly failed to yield and turned in front of her.
The passenger vehicle struck the semi, leaving the woman trapped inside. She was extricated and taken to an area hospital before being airlifted to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
All northbound and southbound lanes of State Road 13 were closed following the collision. Traffic control was provided near the affected roadway while the investigation continued. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
