Why May Pedestrian Crashes Result in Critical Injuries?
Pedestrians are particularly vulnerable when struck by vehicles because they have little physical protection from the force of an impact. The severity of injuries can depend on the vehicle’s speed, the point of impact, and whether the driver had time to react.
Police investigating these crashes may examine the roadway, vehicle damage, witness statements, and other available evidence to determine how the collision occurred.
