Garvin County, OK (August 22, 2026) – A 41-year-old woman lost her life, and another driver was hospitalized after a head-on accident on US 177 near East County Road 1610 on Thursday evening, August 20. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. in Garvin County.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, the woman was driving north on US 177 when her vehicle left the roadway. She overcorrected and returned to the highway, causing a southbound driver to swerve left in an attempt to avoid her vehicle; the two vehicles then collided head-on.
The 41-year-old woman died in the crash, while the other driver was taken to a hospital. Details about the second driver’s injuries were not provided.
