Phoenix, AZ (August 22, 2026) – A fatal crash near Beardsley Road and Cave Creek Road in north Phoenix claimed the life of a 30-year-old man Thursday evening. The police were called to the scene at approximately 7 p.m. on August 20.
Authorities said Sean McArthur was found ejected from his vehicle after the crash. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. A woman and two children in the other vehicle were also taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Preliminary information indicated that McArthur’s vehicle was traveling on the wrong side of the road, while police said the other driver did not show signs of impairment.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal crash remain under review, and additional details may be released as they become available.

What Can Happen in a Wrong-Way Crash?
Wrong-way crashes can be especially dangerous because vehicles may approach each other unexpectedly from opposite directions. At higher speeds, drivers may have very little time to recognize the danger and respond before an impact occurs.
