Phoenix, AZ (May 21, 2026) – A woman died on Wednesday night after a fire tore through a mobile home in west Phoenix near 39th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Emergency units were called around 8 p.m. to reports of a large structure fire with a person still inside. Crews entered the mobile home and found the woman with serious injuries.
She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died. Her name had not been released as of the initial report. Two other people at the scene were evaluated for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization.
Emergency units were able to contain the fire before it spread to any neighboring structures. Still, the cause remains under review, and further details will be made available as they come in.
