How Stop Sign Collisions Can Lead to Serious Injuries
Crashes at stop-controlled intersections commonly occur when a driver fails to yield the right of way. Side-impact collisions can be especially severe because the sides of most vehicles provide less protection than the front or rear. The force of these crashes may result in serious injuries or fatalities, particularly when vehicles are traveling at higher speeds.
Investigators commonly review skid marks, vehicle damage, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage to better understand what happened. They may also examine roadway signs, visibility, and the condition of the vehicles involved. These details can help establish the sequence of events and provide a clearer picture of how the collision occurred.
