Manhattan, KS (July 11, 2026) – A woman was injured, and another driver was arrested on Thursday evening, July 9, after a two-vehicle crash in the 400 block of North Martin Luther King Drive in Manhattan. The collision was reported around 5:33 p.m.
Officers responding to the scene found that a 2008 Ford Econoline van driven by 46-year-old William Joseph Eichem of Manhattan collided with a 2025 Subaru Forester driven by 69-year-old Teressa Chandler of Manhattan. The Subaru had two additional passengers at the time of the crash.
Chandler was taken to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan for treatment of her injuries. Her condition was not immediately available. Eichem was later arrested and booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with driving while suspended and driving as a habitual violator.
