San Antonio, TX (August 15, 2026) – A 52-year-old woman died on Friday after a vehicle struck her and a dog on W Military Dr in San Antonio. The police were called to the 7400 block near Marbach Rd at about 11:45 a.m.
Detectives said the woman was attempting to cross Marbach Rd without using a crosswalk when an eastbound vehicle struck her and the dog. She was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.
The dog also suffered injuries and was fatally shot by police because of its condition, according to the report. The driver, a man in his 60s, was not reported to have any known injuries, and no charges had been filed at the time of publication. The circumstances surrounding the fatal collision remain under investigation.
