Rose Hill, VA (July 22, 2026) – A female passenger died on Monday night, July 20, when a Nissan Armada struck a Ford Thunderbird multiple times at the intersection of Route 642 and Route 798 in Lee County, according to Virginia State Police. The impact, which happened around 11:44 p.m., sent the Thunderbird through a guardrail and off the road, where it struck a house.
The Thunderbird’s driver was injured, while the driver of the Armada remained at the scene and was not reported hurt. Police said the occupants of both vehicles were known to each other.
Charges are pending review by the Commonwealth’s Attorney. Our condolences go out to the passenger’s family and loved ones.
