Silver Spring, MD (June 20, 2026) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle on Friday afternoon on Colesville Road in Silver Spring.
The collision happened around 1:14 p.m. on June 19, in the 10500 block of Colesville Road. Emergency units arrived after reports that an adult woman had been hit and found the person in critical condition, before she later died.
Investigators said the driver involved left the area after striking the pedestrian. The vehicle was described as a black SUV with tinted windows and possible damage to the right front bumper and fender. It was last seen traveling on Colesville Road toward New Hampshire Avenue.
The woman’s identity has not been released pending notification of family members. The investigation into the fatal accident remains ongoing.
