Putnam County, WV (August 30, 2026) – One woman was killed on Friday morning, August 28, after two vehicles collided on US-35 at Plantation Road in Putnam County. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened around 6 a.m.
The victim was identified as Sherry M. Wears. Sheriff Bobby Eggleton said another person was taken to a hospital following the crash. A northbound lane and a southbound lane were closed after the collision. Both lanes have since reopened, while additional details about the circumstances were not immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
