Purcell, OK (July 25, 2026) – A 74-year-old woman was killed, and three others were injured after a two-vehicle crash at 180th Street and May Avenue in Purcell on Thursday evening, July 23. The crash was reported at about 7:45 p.m.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Nelda Idle of Pocasset was driving westbound on 180th Street when she ran a stop sign and was struck by a northbound vehicle traveling on May Avenue. The impact pushed Idle’s vehicle about 95 feet north from the point of the collision; he was pronounced dead following the crash.
Two passengers in her vehicle were injured, though the extent of their injuries was not released. The 32-year-old driver of the second vehicle was also injured. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as they become available.
