San Antonio, TX (August 4, 2026) – A woman in her 60s lost her life on Monday morning following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Hardy Oak Boulevard and Wilderness Oak on San Antonio’s North Side.

The collision was reported at about 11 a.m. on August 3. Investigators said the woman was driving out of a neighborhood when her vehicle was struck by another vehicle operated by a teenage driver. The force of the collision left the woman trapped inside her vehicle.

Emergency units removed the woman from the vehicle, and lifesaving efforts were attempted, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. The teenage driver, who was the only occupant of the second vehicle, was taken to a hospital for evaluation. No names have been released, and additional details about what led to the crash have not been made public.

Investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Why Side-Impact Crashes Can Be Especially Dangerous

Side-impact crashes, often called T-bone collisions, can result in severe injuries because the sides of most vehicles provide less protection than the front or rear. These collisions frequently occur at intersections when one vehicle enters the path of another during a turn or while crossing the roadway.

To determine how a side-impact collision occurred, investigators commonly review traffic controls, vehicle positions, roadway evidence, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage. They may also examine vehicle damage and other physical evidence to establish the sequence of events. Information gathered during this process helps create a clearer picture of what happened and may contribute to future roadway safety improvements.
