Boone County, MO (June 18, 2026) – A 38-year-old woman from Ashland was seriously hurt in a traffic crash on US-63 in Boone County on Tuesday, June 16.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. when a 2025 Peterbilt 548 truck driven by a 25-year-old Columbia man turned right onto US-63 from Gilmore Ln. Investigators said the truck entered the path of a 2020 Honda Fit operated by the Ashland woman.
The truck moved into the right lane where the woman was traveling, and her vehicle struck the rear of the truck. A photograph released by the Highway Patrol showed the Honda lodged beneath the truck’s trailer following the wreck.
She was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of serious injuries. No additional information about her current medical status was immediately available. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review as investigators continue gathering information.
