Medford, NY (August 19, 2026) – A 49-year-old woman was seriously injured on Tuesday, August 18, after the electric scooter she was riding was struck by a delivery truck on Lake Drive in Medford, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said a 47-year-old Hempstead man was driving a 2019 Ford delivery truck southbound on Lake Drive at approximately 1:25 p.m. when it struck the e-scooter, which was traveling eastbound on Lake Drive. The woman was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, while the truck driver was not injured.
