What Happens During Crash Rescues Involving Vehicle Entrapment?
Vehicle entrapment crashes require coordinated rescue efforts because occupants may be unable to safely exit damaged vehicles. Emergency crews typically assess the condition of the vehicle, the location of the trapped person, and the safest way to remove them while limiting additional injury.
The severity of these crashes can depend on the direction of impact, vehicle damage, and whether safety systems inside the vehicle function properly. Rescue teams may use specialized tools to create access points or move damaged parts of a vehicle. After removal, medical teams evaluate patients for injuries that may not be immediately visible, including trauma caused by the force of the crash.
