Fairfax County, VA (July 11, 2026) – A Virginia State Trooper was hospitalized after a reported wrong-way crash on the Interstate 395 express lanes in Fairfax County. The collision happened around 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, July 9.
Virginia State Police said troopers were alerted to a vehicle traveling north on Prince William County’s Interstate 95 express lanes, which were being used for southbound traffic at the time. A trooper later located the vehicle on Interstate 395 in Fairfax County and entered the highway ahead of it.
The vehicle then crashed into the trooper’s vehicle and a third vehicle. The driver was taken into custody, and both the driver and the trooper were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Additional details about the crash were not immediately available. We are thinking of those injured as they begin their recovery.
