San Antonio, TX (June 6, 2026) – A driver was hospitalized on Friday afternoon after a stolen tractor traveling the wrong way collided head-on with a pickup truck on the city’s inner west side.
The crash occurred around 2:39 p.m. near the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 90 and General McMullen Drive. According to police, the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was exiting Highway 90 onto the General McMullen cloverleaf ramp and was traveling in the proper direction when a Kenworth tractor approached from the opposite direction.
Investigators said the tractor struck the pickup truck head-on. Following the collision, the driver of the Kenworth fled on foot. Authorities later determined the tractor had been reported stolen.
The Silverado driver sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police have not announced any arrests, though investigators indicated that the suspect is expected to face a charge related to an injury-causing collision once located. Detectives continue to search for the driver and review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
