Yucatan Twp, MN (January 20, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries early Tuesday morning on Minnesota Highway 16 near Chisholm Rd in Yucatan Township, Houston County. The crash occurred at approximately 6:29 a.m. and involved a Chevy Malibu and a Chevy Express van traveling in opposite directions.
According to information from the Minnesota State Patrol, the Chevy Malibu was eastbound while the Chevy Express was heading westbound when the vehicles collided near the rural intersection. Emergency responders from Rushford Fire and EMS, along with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, arrived quickly to assist those involved.
Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Julie Jean Odonnell, 67, of Rushford, who was driving the 2014 Chevy Malibu, was transported to Emplify Health in La Crosse for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt, and the airbags in her vehicle deployed during the crash. Gregory Scott Sheldon, 55, of Houston, was driving the 2015 Chevy Express van. He also suffered non-life-threatening injuries but did not require hospital transport.
Road conditions at the time of the incident were reported as dry, and no alcohol use was involved. The Minnesota State Patrol is continuing its investigation into the exact cause of the crash.
