Route 1 Crashes Can Create Serious Injury Risks
Crashes on busy roads like Route 1 can become severe because traffic usually includes local drivers, turning vehicles, and people entering or leaving nearby businesses. When vehicles meet near driveways or parking lot exits, there may be limited time to react.
Roadway access points can also add complexity. Drivers may be watching several movements at once, including traffic in both directions, nearby signals, and vehicles slowing ahead. A brief change in traffic flow can quickly create danger.
When a crash leads to fatal or serious injuries, investigators may review vehicle paths, visibility, speed, traffic control, and nearby access points. These details can help explain how the collision occurred while avoiding assumptions in the early stages of the review.
