Andover, IL (June 8, 2026) – One person died, and at least one other person was critically hurt following a two-vehicle collision Sunday morning, June 7, on Interstate 74 near Andover in Henry County.
According to state police, troopers were called to milepost 24 on eastbound I-74 around 10:50 a.m. Initial reports indicated that two vehicles were involved.
At least two people were taken to a hospital after the crash. One of those occupants later died from their injuries. Information regarding the identities of those involved has not yet been released. The right outside lane of eastbound I-74 remained closed as of 3:08 p.m. while crews worked in the roadway and investigators gathered information. Additional details about the accident had not been made public as of this report. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances that led to the fatal roadway collision.
