Mount Laurel, NJ (August 31, 2026) – A 58-year-old Brooklyn woman died after an SUV rear-ended a car on the southbound New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday morning, August 29.
The collision happened around 12:40 a.m., about five miles north of Exit 4 in Mount Laurel. Dorothy C. Clarke was riding as a passenger in the car when it was struck from behind.
Clarke was pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger in the car was hospitalized with serious injuries. The car’s driver, a third passenger, and the SUV driver were also injured, with their injuries described as moderate.
The crash involved two vehicles, and the initial report did not provide additional details about what led to the rear-end collision. Further information about the people involved was not immediately available.
