Wauconda, IL (July 23, 2026) – A teenage boy died after being critically hurt in a late-night collision involving an electric dirt bike and an SUV near Wauconda High School on Tuesday, June 21.
Emergency units were called to the 500 block of N Main St at about 9:58 p.m. after receiving reports of a car and bike crash. Crews arrived to find an electric dirt bike and an SUV with significant damage in front of the entrance to Wauconda High School.
The teen, who was operating the electric dirt bike, was found lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries; he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The cause of the collision remains under review, and additional information may be released as the inquiry continues.
