Salisbury Township, PA (September 14, 2026) – A sport utility vehicle crossed a double yellow line and struck a motorcyclist head-on Friday night, September 11, in Salisbury Township.
The collision occurred around 9:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of E Susquehanna St. Investigators said the SUV was traveling east and following another vehicle closely before its driver crossed the centerline to pass on the left.
The SUV then struck the motorcycle, which was traveling west, according to investigators. The 39-year-old motorcyclist from Fountain Hill was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, where he died at 10:08 p.m.
The SUV driver was identified and taken into custody. Criminal charges are pending. The motorcyclist’s name had not been released while relatives were notified and his family grieved privately.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, September 14, to determine the cause and manner of death. The investigation remains active as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal accident.
