Crisfield, MD (September 13, 2026) – A man sustained injuries Friday morning, September 11, when a fire broke out inside a detached garage in the 2900 block of Byrdtown Road in Crisfield at approximately 9:04 a.m.
The one-story garage was built with brick and wood framing. Fire officials said the fire appears to have started accidentally during welding work being performed inside the garage. One adult man suffered a burn injury during the fire. He was taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment, and his condition was not known at the time of publication.
Nineteen firefighters responded under one alarm. Crews brought the fire under control in about one hour. The circumstances surrounding the fire remain under review.
