Elkton, MD (July 11, 2026) – A woman from Pennsylvania lost her life in a head-on collision along Telegraph Rd near Buckwheat Run Rd in the Fair Hill community of Cecil County.
According to the initial report, the two-vehicle crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, when 34-year-old Casey Almanza of Kirkwood, Pennsylvania, was driving west on Telegraph Rd. For reasons that have not yet been determined, a Nissan Frontier crossed the double-yellow centerline and struck her Toyota Corolla.
The victim was pronounced dead at the roadway. The driver of the Nissan was not hurt. Emergency units closed Telegraph Rd for several hours while crews documented evidence and cleared the roadway.
Investigators stated the case remains under review, and the completed findings will be submitted to the Cecil County State’s Attorney for consideration. The reason the pickup crossed into oncoming traffic has not been released.
The cause of the crash is still being examined as investigators continue gathering evidence.
