Saginaw Twp., MI (July 23, 2026) – A woman lost her life, and two other people were hurt after a vehicle entered a restaurant along Bay Rd. in Saginaw Township.
The incident happened shortly after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, when an 87-year-old Bay City man driving a 2012 Lexus reportedly left a nearby body shop, crossed multiple lanes of Bay Rd. north of Vogue Rd., drove over a curb, and entered Peter and Chia’s House A Thai & Chinese Eatery. The vehicle came to rest inside the building.
Emergency units found three people inside the restaurant with serious injuries. A 65-year-old Saginaw woman, who was dining at the restaurant, died at the site. A 62-year-old patron and a 48-year-old employee were taken to nearby hospitals after being removed from the damaged building. Their current status has not been released.
The driver and his 83-year-old passenger were also taken to a local hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening. Investigators continue working to determine what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and enter the restaurant.
