Grifton, NC (August 27, 2026) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a car struck him on Tuesday night, August 25, on Hwy 11 South near Blount Hall Rd, just outside Grifton.
The crash occurred around 8:50 p.m. when 20-year-old Tyon Burney was walking north along the highway. An approaching car struck the Maryland resident.
The injured pedestrian was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the collision remains underway as additional details are gathered.
