Atlanta, GA (September 14, 2026) – One person was killed, and another was injured early on Sunday, September 13, after an SUV crashed off Interstate 20 East near Windsor Street SW in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Police Department said the crash happened shortly after 1:15 a.m. The SUV was traveling eastbound when it left the highway, crossed concrete barriers protecting the Windsor Street SW on-ramp, and landed on the ramp below.
A 45-year-old woman was ejected from the SUV and pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger survived the crash and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The identity of the woman who died had not been released. The cause of the crash remained unclear, and it was not immediately known whether speed, weather, or impairment contributed.
