What Can Happen When a Vehicle Crosses a Roadway Divider?
Crossing a grassy divider can cause a vehicle to encounter uneven surfaces, making it difficult to maintain control. A sudden change in direction or contact with a guardrail or concrete median can result in a severe impact. Vehicle speed, steering movements, and roadway conditions may affect how a vehicle responds.
Crash investigations may examine the vehicle’s path, tire marks, roadway damage, and points of impact. Investigators can also review vehicle damage and available video to determine how the vehicle left its travel lanes. These details can help establish the sequence of events before the collision.
