Grand Forks, ND (August 12, 2026) – A 52-year-old Grand Forks man was seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon, August 11, when an SUV entered his path on Gateway Dr, according to the initial report.
The collision occurred around 1:13 p.m. in the 2400 block of Gateway Dr. The man was riding a 2001 Harley-Davidson Softail Deuce westbound when a 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe entered the roadway from a business. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side of the Hyundai.
The motorcycle driver received medical aid before being taken to Altru Emergency Room by ambulance. His condition was not released. The 80-year-old Gilby man driving the Santa Fe was not hurt.
The Hyundai driver was cited for failing to yield. Traffic was diverted near Gateway Dr and N Columbia Rd and near Gateway Dr and N 20th St for about two hours while the investigation continued. The circumstances surrounding the wreck remain under review as investigators work to determine the full sequence of events.
