Haverhill, MA (June 27, 2026) – A 12-year-old girl lost her life after a collision involving a school bus and a motorized scooter on Thursday afternoon, June 25, in Haverhill. The accident occurred at about 4 p.m. at the intersection of Portland Street and 5th Avenue.

Police said the girl was riding the scooter with another child when the scooter collided with the school bus. Both children were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, and the 12-year-old later died. Her identity has not been released while family members are being notified.
