Weber County, UT (August 17, 2026) – Two people were critically injured on Saturday, August 15, after a passenger car and a semi crashed on eastbound Interstate 84 near the mouth of Weber Canyon.
The crash happened near mile marker 88 and resulted in the closure of eastbound I-84, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. Traffic was diverted to Highway 89 while the crash scene was cleared.
The two people in the passenger car suffered life-threatening injuries, according to a Utah Highway Patrol sergeant. Additional details about the circumstances of the crash and the identities of those involved were not immediately available. The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
