Savannah, GA (June 23, 2026) – Two motorists lost their lives following a wrong-way collision on Interstate 16 in Savannah early on Saturday morning, June 20.
According to the Savannah Police Department, officers determined through a preliminary investigation that the crash occurred at approximately 3:40 a.m. on I-16 near mile marker 163.
Investigators said 22-year-old Naveeshia Moore was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 16 when her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Michael Fripp, who was traveling eastbound in the center lane.
The impact resulted in fatal injuries to both drivers. Authorities said Moore and Fripp were pronounced dead at the scene. The Savannah Police Department’s Traffic Investigative Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
