Alta, CA (July 28, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and a gray sedan was reported on July 26 along westbound I-80 near the Alta off-ramp in Placer County.
According to initial dispatch information, the collision was reported at about 8:27 a.m. when a white Volvo semi-truck pulling a white box trailer collided with a gray sedan. The sedan came to rest in the No. 1 lane while the semi stopped on the right shoulder. Emergency units were dispatched after the report was upgraded to indicate possible injuries.
The westbound fast lane was blocked while crews worked to assist those involved and clear the roadway. Fire personnel temporarily shut down all westbound lanes during the operation, and a heavy-duty tow truck was requested to remove the damaged vehicles. The number of people hurt and the extent of any injuries had not been released.
