Grand Rapids, MN (June 29, 2026) – Two people lost their lives after a two-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 169 near Victory Lane in Harris Township on June 28.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the fatal crash happened when a 2017 Ford Explorer traveling northbound and a 2009 Lexus RX heading southbound collided on Highway 169. The roadway was reported to be dry at the time, and both vehicles’ airbags deployed during the collision.
The driver of the Ford Explorer was identified as 24-year-old McKenna Joy Christensen of Luck, Wisconsin. The driver of the Lexus RX was identified as 83-year-old Carole Rose Wiss of Grand Rapids, Minnesota. The cause of the crash remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
