New Sweden, MN (June 29, 2026) – Four vehicles were involved in a serious collision at the intersection of Highway 22 and County Road 1 in New Sweden on June 28. The vehicles included a 2021 GMC Sierra pickup, a 2012 Toyota Corolla, a 2015 Honda Pilot, and a motorcycle.
Initial reports indicated one person was unconscious, while another said they had no feeling in their legs. The GMC Sierra also rolled over during the crash. Emergency units requested mutual aid as crews worked to assist those involved and manage the roadway.
An air ambulance was automatically dispatched and flew one patient from the scene for medical treatment. The Minnesota Department of Transportation was also called to help with significant traffic backups as delays stretched through the intersection. The identities of those involved have not been released, but the cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering information.
