Tucson, AZ (July 5, 2026) – Two people lost their lives in a two-vehicle collision along the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Vail.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the fatal crash occurred on Friday, July 3, at milepost 291, about 12 miles east of Vail. The Arizona Department of Transportation reported that two vehicles were involved.
The eastbound lanes of I-10 remained closed for several hours overnight while emergency units worked on the roadway. Traffic resumed later Saturday morning after the highway was reopened.
The identities of the people who died have not yet been released, and additional information about how the collision occurred was not immediately available.
Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.
