What Information Is Reviewed After a Serious Multi-Vehicle Wreck?

A major multi-vehicle accident can involve several sources of information as investigators work to establish what happened. Vehicle positions, damage, photographs, and roadway markings can help document the circumstances. Statements from drivers and witnesses may also provide details about what each person saw before the vehicles came together.

Medical records can help document the nature and severity of reported injuries. Information about weather, visibility, traffic conditions, and the design of the roadway may also be reviewed when relevant. Vehicle inspection can provide additional details about mechanical conditions or damage. Together, these records can create a clearer picture of the circumstances surrounding a multi-vehicle collision without relying on a single piece of evidence.
