Bay County, FL (August 20, 2026) – One person was killed, and another suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash on Tuesday, August 18, near U.S. Highway 231 and State Road 20 in Bay County.
The Florida Highway Patrol and Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash shortly before 10 p.m. According to a preliminary investigation, a gray Toyota Tundra was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 231, just south of State Road 20, when it veered to the left for unknown reasons.
The pickup left the roadway, began rotating, and overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its side along the north shoulder. Authorities said the driver was ejected from the vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries, while the passenger sustained serious injuries.
Bay County Sheriff’s Office deputies began life-saving measures on the driver until emergency medical personnel arrived. Both occupants were taken to a local hospital, where the driver later died despite continued medical efforts. The Florida Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the crash.
