Vanceburg, KY (July 12, 2026) – A 21-year-old man lost his life following a head-on collision involving two pickup trucks in Lewis County on the morning of July 9. The fatal crash happened around 7:30 a.m. along Kentucky 10 near Harrison Hollow Rd.
According to the Kentucky State Police, a pickup truck was traveling westbound behind another vehicle when it entered a designated passing zone. Investigators said the driver moved into the eastbound lane to pass and struck an oncoming Chevrolet Silverado head-on. Heavy fog had reduced visibility at the time.
Charles A. Corns, 21, of Garrison, was taken to Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, where he was pronounced dead. The three other people involved were also taken to the hospital with injuries. Emergency units assisted those involved and cleared the roadway while investigators documented the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under review as investigators continue gathering evidence.
